Galloway Run/Walk Calculator; Beta Version
Welcome to my Galloway "Run/Walk" calculator! With
this version, you'll be able to do the following:
- Choose a goal time for a given race distance and a run/walk
scheme. Input a running phase pace (and there is an option to
put in a walking phase pace as well) and a run/walk scheme (i.
e., run "x" minutes, walk "y" minutes). The output is the run
phase pace necessary to meet your goal. There is an option to
use miles or kilometers as units. To get to this calculator click
here.
- Choose a run walk scheme and input your run phase pace (and
also a walk pace, if desired). The output is your time for the
race. One can use either kilometers or miles as distance units.
To get to this calculator click here.
- Choose to walk a certain number of minutes per mile. I recommend
that you use Keith Stone's ("Stoneman") program for this calculation.
(Stoneman is a much better programmer than I am!) You can get
there from here.
This calculator calculates the pace you are required
to run during the run phase of your race in order to finish your
race at a certain goal time.
Enter your race distance, your goal time in hours, minutes and seconds,
and then enter the number of minutes per "cycle" you are going to
run and walk. For example, a "9/1" would be entered as "9 minutes
run, 1 minute walk". The default walking pace is 15 minutes per
mile.
If you make a mistake, or just want to start over, push the "Clear"
button.
This part of the calculator calculates the finish time for a
race given a run/walk scheme and running and walking paces.
Enter your race distance, the number of minutes per "cycle" you
are going to run and walk. For example, a "9/1" would be entered
as "9 minutes run, 1 minute walk". Next enter your running pace;
there is also an option of entering a walking pace. The default
walking pace is 15 minutes per mile.
If you make a mistake, or just want to start over, push the "Clear"
button.
